Allan’s paintings and photographs depict the landscapes of Herefordshire, Wales, the Highlands of Scotland and Europe. As a trained photographer, he has a keen sense of the fleeting effects of lighting, mood and atmosphere and this is apparent in his work.

Alongside his creative work, Allan works as a counsellor and psychotherapist, helping people to deal with stresses and strains in their lives.

Allan has always been captivated by the Herefordshire landscape and in 1996 decided to try his hand at watercolour painting. His first exhibition was a near sell-out and he has since held exhibitions in Edinburgh, North Wales as well as at Hereford Art Week.

Allan is a keen mountaineer and makes regular treks to the mountainous areas of Britain. He seeks to capture the uniqueness of the areas he visits and finds Scotland and Wales particularly inspiring.

Allan is married with one son and lives in Hereford.
